## Job Description
BASIC DESCRIPTION:
The SubArc Application Engineer is responsible for providing SAW application development, product performance, and technical support (emphasis on pre- and post- sale) to the ITW sales team for identified key accounts. The SAW Application Engineer will work with the SAW team along with end user accounts on welding related projects to increase the pull through of ITW Welding Products. The candidate will also create solutions to defend key accounts where ITW has a strong presence by documenting SAW welding process improvements and solutions that deliver value to the customer.
The candidate will work closely with the key SAW team members in N. America as well as in Europe and China to integrate best solutions.
Essential Functions:
Serve as the Application Expert regarding SAW products and processes.
Perform and create key product data to support customer needs.
Provide key end user solutions to optimize value.
Manage and mentor the SAW welder by providing clear tasks and work objectives.
Identify and evaluate manufacturing constraints/opportunities with the targeted customers.
Maintain consistent communications between ITW sales resources, key end users, and the ITW operating business.
Reporting on activities, opportunities, project status with the ITW operating units.
Be able to effectively perform training (theoretical and practical) in SAW techniques and processes)
Capable of working with minimal supervision within a matrix organization to drive the overall segment objectives.
Must be able to travel 30% of the time. Limited international travel, if any, required.
## Job Requirements
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Welding engineering degree is required with at least 3 years of experience.
Strong application knowledge in welding processes and technologies. Both for equipment and filler metals.
Candidate must have strong communication and presentation skills including computer skills such as Word Documents and Excel spread sheets, along with strong written and verbal interpersonal skills.
It will be necessary for this candidate to possess time management skills, strong initiatives and be a self-starter/team player.
